About the Author

David Hodge teaches guitar and ukulele, as well as bass, piano, songwriting, and music theory, in Berkshire County, Massachusetts. In addition to his private students, he also teaches group classes at Berkshire Community College, at both its Pittsfield and Great Barrington campuses.

Since 1999, David has been Managing Editor and Senior Writer for the highly praised, free online tutorial site Guitar Noise (www.guitarnoise.com), where his lessons have been read by over two million people from more than 160 countries across the world. He also regularly contributes to Acoustic Guitar magazine.

David is the author of Idiot’s Guides: Playing Guitar, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Playing the Ukulele, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Guitar, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Playing Rock Guitar, and The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Playing Bass Guitar. He is also co-author of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to the Art of Songwriting, with Grammy-nominated Nashville writer Casey Kelly.
